18 August 2016 - Jumla / Karnali zone - Nepal
Every year, Janai Purnima is celebrated on the day of the full moon in the Shravan month (from the end of July to the end of August in the Gregorian calendar).
This festival, also called « Raksha Bandhan » in India, it gathers the Hindu communities all over the world. Originally, it symbolises friendship between brother and sister, and more broadly between men and women.
It’s embodied by the symbolic exchange of a thread around the wrist.
